1. Kleinenbremen Heritage Mine and Museum

Journey back through time in the historic 1937 railcar into the former Wohlverwahrt iron ore mine. Experienced mine guides will lead you through the mysterious world below ground. The whole family can spend an interesting day at the museum, with dinosaur trails, ammonites, bones, plants and minerals telling the story of different periods in the earth’s history.

Above ground, you can follow the story of ore mining and opencast ore and limestone mining on the mining trail.

2. Schaumburg Castle

The castle grounds are open all year round. The incomparable view over the Weser Valley makes it a popular choice for day trippers, families on holiday and business lunches as well as a destination for tour parties and club outings.

3. Travel by trolley from Rinteln to the Exter Valley

Climb aboard in Rinteln at the gateway to the Weser Uplands and cycle through the Lippe Uplands on the specially developed trolley.

4. Klippenturm Tower

5. Bückeburg Palace

You are invited to explore Bückeburg Palace, home of the Princes of Schaumburg-Lippe, and see round the rooms. Visit the Royal Riding School, take a refreshment break at the Alte Schlossküche café and restaurant, or stroll at leisure through the magnificent grounds.

This is Germany’s most northerly dripstone cave, situated in the municipal area of Hessisch Oldendorf, in the district of Langenfeld.
